Kirkmichael Primary School

Kirkmichael Primary SchoolKirkmichael Primary School's catchment area covers Kirkmichael, Blacklunans and Glenshee and it is one of the largest catchments in the Perth and Kinross area.  In addition, the nursery also takes in pre-school children from Straloch and Bridge of Cally.

The school has been involved in the Eco School Initiative; we have gained the bronze and silver awards, and are now ready to apply for our first Green Flag.  The school recycles paper and cardboard, and a community cardboard bin is located at the entrance to the school.

Kirkmichael Primary School has an all-weather court which was only possible through the generosity of the local community.  The court enables us to play tennis, basketball, netball, football and hocket in the summertime, and to play outdoors in the winter months.  The court is also used by pupils from the neighbouring schools of Straloch and Bridge of Cally.  During school holidays the court is available for use by the local community as a tennis court.

The roll of the school has been increasing over the past few years with additional accommodation planned for this session.  At present there are three teachers, an early years practitioner, classroom assistant and early intervention practitioner for part of the week.  At present the nursery is almost at capacity.  It is open in the mornings only.  At present there are 9 nursery pupils and 44 pupils in Primaries 1 to 7.
