Blackwater Public Hall

Blackwater HallBlackwater Hall is situated 10 miles north of Blairgowrie on the main A 93 Perth to Braemar Route. The hall is managed by a dedicated committee of local people who organise fund raising activities including dances, auctions etc throughout the year. The hall is available to rent and is in an ideal location for groups or organisations who wish to participate in some of the outdoor activities in the area or for those who prefer to have a relaxing break in some of the most beautiful countryside rural Perthshire has to offer. The hall offers sleeping accommodation for a maximum of 38 persons in bunk and camp bed style. The hall is centrally heated and facilities include a very well equipped kitchen, drying room, toilets and showers. The hall sits in its own grounds suitable for outdoor activities. There is also a barbecue and picnic area. The hall can be rented for private functions i.e. weddings, birthday parties etc. The maximum capacity for this purpose is 150 persons.

The hall is also available to local persons who need a meeting place for their club or organisation.

Kirkmichael Hall

Kirkmichael HallKirkmichael village hall is situated in the centre of the village and plays a very important part in village life, holding the following events and activities

  • Tuesday - 6 - 7.30pm Brownies.
  • Every second Thursday - 7.15pm S.W.R.I.
  • Every third Thursday - 8pm Masons meeting.
  • Friday (October to April) - Youth club 6.30pm to 8pm for primary children and 8pm to 9.30pm for the older children.

Kirkmichael and Straloch schools use the hall for most of their gym activities on various days during the week

Kirkmichael School also use the hall facilities to hold their St Andrews night dance in November and to stage their Christmas production in December.

At other times during the year there are various fund raising activities for the hall including bingo twice a year and other charity events.

The hall is available for hire for private functions and events.

Bridge of Cally Hall

Bridge of Cally HallBridge of Cally Hall is situated at the edge of the village on the A93 Glenshee/Braemar road. It is in easy reach of Blairgowrie, Pitlochry and Deeside.

The hall itself measures 15 x 6.8 meters with a roomy entrance hall. It is attractive, well maintained and used by groups with varying interests. It has an excellent floor suitable for dancing, badminton, indoor bowling etc. The curtained stage has adequate stage lighting. The seating capacity is 110. There is a fire exit at the back of the hall and fire extinguishers comply with the regulations.

There is also a smaller meeting room measuring 6.3 x 3 meters with large windows providing good light for craft classes etc.

The large kitchen measures 5.80 x 3 meters and is equipped with stainless steel units, cooker and immersion heater. Two water boilers have been installed recently.

The hall was updated several years ago and now has modern ladies, gents and disabled toilets all with hot and cold running water and electric heaters. There are also two extra cloakrooms, suitable for use by entertainers, one with toilet and wash basin.

Situated as it is adjacent to the main road with its own good sized car park it is easily accessible. There is also disabled access from the car park.
