Community Council

The Mount Blair Community Council covers the same geographical area as this community web site.  The Community Council is local residents’ most local tier of statutory elected representation; the next tier up being the local Perth and Kinross Council councillor.

The Community Council exists to promote the well being of the local community, and it is required to ensure a balanced representation of the interests and views of the community to the relevant bodies.  The community council is also a statutory consultee on planning and licensing applications in the area.  It is apolitical and non-sectarian.

The elected community councillors each represent a sub-area. The sub-areas are: Blacklunans, Bridge of Cally, Glenshee, Kirkmichael and Straloch. Blacklunans, Glenshee and Straloch have one representative member, Bridge of Cally and Kirkmichael have two. The community council has the power to choose to co-opt or nominate additional members as appropriate.
